Fran Ackerman Mackay has enjoyed a career of over thirty years as a professional
artist. Fran was born in New York and educated in New York and Boston.
She received full scholarships
and attended the Brooklyn Museum Art School for classical oil painting and State University of New York, where she received her Bachelors
of Fine Arts Degree. She earned her Masters of Fine Arts in Painting from Boston University, where she also had a teaching fellowship. She received the Alexander Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Art.
She currently works out of her studio
in her home in Randolph, Massachusetts where she lives with her husband and daughter.
In addition to being
a productive painter she has also worked extensively in social betterment and human rights activities.
